Marian read French and Italian at Oxford having spent years in Italy as a child. After a career as an international management consultant she returned to her first love and retrained in Garden History, Advanced Horticulture and Garden Design. She studied Landscape Design at Greenwich University and following her Masters in Landscape Architecture, she set up the practice based in Kent.
Marian is interested in creating harmony, in forming places where people can be themselves and project their own personalities. She works with the setting, the people and the available materials to discover and develop the special and the important in each garden and landscape. Respect for the ecology, the history and the future inform her thinking and her designs. She specialises in Historic Gardens, and is a lecturer in Historic Garden Conservation at Greenwich University.
